SD Sealants renews title partnership for 2018 and 2019

We are delighted to announce that SD Sealants, the UK’s leading specialist sealant application and cosmetic repair company, have renewed their sponsorship of the Junior Tour of Wales.

The partnership, which began in 2016, helped the Junior Tour organisers extend the race to the full four days of the August Bank Holiday this year, giving the riders their toughest course to date. The renewal will cover the 2018 and 2019 editions of the race, which sees over one hundred junior male riders from across the UK – and beyond – gather to compete over 200 miles of the best roads in Wales.

This year’s tour was led from start to finish by World Junior Cyclo-Cross and Time Trial Champion Tom Pidcock, riding for the PH-MAS-Paul Milnes-Oldfield team.

Richard Hopkins, Race Organiser for the Junior Tour of Wales said:

“We are delighted to continue and evolve our partnership with SD Sealants, who have become a central part of the Junior Tour family. With the stability of a further two years, and hopefully beyond, to plan for, there’s so much more we can do. We are looking forward to giving the next generations of talent an even better, more exciting race!”.

The tour, inaugurated in 1981 is renowned as the competition for rising cycling stars, with the likes of Geraint Thomas, Mark Cavendish, Tour de France GC contender Dan Martin and Tour of Britain stage winner Edvald Boasson Hagen riding for the race’s jerseys in their junior days.

Nick Jones, SD Sealants Managing Director said:

“The Junior Tour of Wales has a long history of giving young, talented riders the opportunity to experience the UK’s best junior race, and we’re very proud to be associated with such an inspiring event. This has been an outstanding year for the Tour, and we’re really looking forward to seeing what the next two years brings.”

The SD Sealants Junior Tour of Wales 2018 gets underway on Friday August 24th, and will be open to riders born in 2000 and 2001. Entries will open early in the new year.
